Hey guys, so now that we are all on break, you may be wondering what you could possibly be doing with all that sweet, precious time on your hands!

Well, you could count the ticks of the clock until classes start on January 12th, but you would be counting to roughly two million and three hundred, and that’s no fun.

You could read a book, or… an entire library of books, if you own one.

You could drive around looking for burning buildings to save orphans from, but those are kind of rare these days.

I think the right answer is, yes. All of them. But if counting, reading, or life-saving isn’t your cup of tea, then think about this: what can you do to be better prepared next semester? How many of you thought, “Wow, finals really bit me in the rear end. I really wish I was better prepared for them!” Well instead of letting it happen again, and again, and again, and again (up to seven more times if you’re a freshman), then sit yourself down for 10 minutes and come up with a game plan. Maybe you’ll find that the trick is just doing your homework that day its assigned rather than they day before (or day that) it’s due. Maybe actually opening the book that you paid too much money for (and that you’re going to sell back to the bookstore for a laughable amount) and reading ahead of what the professor assigns will help a lot. Maybe you just need to focus and cut down on the social activities you do, or even better, integrate homework in to your social activities! Why not try a new drinking game where everyone does a problem of their math homework, then checks the back of the book after everyone is done, and whoever got it wrong has to drink!

But all kidding aside, try to compile a list of things you could do so you are better prepared come finals in May. Try them out, see what works, see what doesn’t, and get yourself on track from day one. It will take only ten minutes, so get to it!…at some point between now and January 12th. Wait, scratch that, between now and January 1st. (If I give you a due date, you guys wont do it until the night before anyway, so now you’ll do it early by default!)
